It focuses on reducing morbidity and mortality for the patient and the fetus, increasing the chances of conception when pregnancy is desired, and providing contraceptive counseling to help prevent unintended pregnancies. ![]() Preconception care is individualized care for people considering pregnancy. ![]() As such, they are well-positioned to proactively counsel and care for patients and their families before, during, and after pregnancy.
